Cleaning Between Turnovers - Don't Forget The Obvious!

As a property owner, it's important to make sure that your rental space is clean between turnovers. A thorough and spotless cleaning job will ensure that your tenants feel welcomed and taken care of. But even the best cleaners can overlook some common areas when preparing for the next tenant. Window Blinds 

It's easy to forget about window blinds, especially if they don't look visibly dirty. However, over time, dust and dirt can accumulate in the slats of the blinds and in hard-to-reach corners. To keep them clean, use a handheld vacuum cleaner or a microfiber cloth dampened with warm water. Ceiling Fans 

Ceiling fans are one of those items that we tend to ignore until they're actually needed—and then it's too late! Make sure to add ceiling fans to your regular cleaning list so that they don't get forgotten when you're dealing with turnover cleaning. Start by turning off power at the switch before wiping down blades with a damp cloth or towel. If there is any dust accumulation, try using an extendable duster or soft brush to reach between fan blades without damaging them. 

Backsplashes and Outlets                                 

From kitchen backsplashes to outlets behind furniture and appliances, these areas often get overlooked during routine cleanings but should be checked regularly when preparing a rental space for turnover. Use a mild kitchen cleanser mixed with warm water and then wipe down backsplashes as well as outlets with a soft cloth or sponge. Be sure to unplug any electronics before getting started! For tougher stains, use baking soda mixed with warm water—it will help break up oil and grease buildup without scratching surfaces like tile or stainless steel.  

Cleaning between turnovers is an essential part of being a property owner but it's easy to forget about certain spots in your rental spaces—like windows blinds, ceiling fans, backsplashes, and outlets—that need just as much attention as other areas do!
